Legally Blonde was an infinitely better movie with a much stronger script. Elle Woods has a character arc and, god forbid, a personality. Barbie didn't have to be reduced to being a dull plastic doll. Ruth Handler was a fascinating character and a big part of the Barbie product design was the message that women could do anything. Even in the Mattel children's hospital, the product designers make the wheelchairs look like cars or chariots to take the kids minds off being sick. What a waste of time and talent.
